International Journal of Marine Science (ISSN 1927-6648) is an open access, peer reviewed journal published online by Aqua Publisher. The journal publishes all the latest and outstanding research articles, letters and reviews in all areas of marine science. The range of topics containing the advancement of scientific and engineering knowledge regarding the sea from chemical and physical to biological oceanography, from estuaries and coastal waters to the open ocean; as well as including fisheries, socio-economic science, co-management, ecosystems and other topical advisory subjects.

International Journal of Marine Science is archived in LAC (Library and Archives Canada) and deposited in CrossRef. The Journal has been indexed by ProQuest as well. 

International Journal of Marine Science is published online by the Aqua Publisher, an independent publishing platform based British Columbia of Canada. The Aqua Publisher applies the Creative Commons Attribution License (CCAL) to all works published in this journal. Under the terms of CCAL, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article and have granted to any third party to reuse, reprint, disseminate and unlimited download, provided the original authors and source are right cited. No permission is required from the authors or the publishers.

All journals under Aqua Publisher do not require article processing charges (APCs) and offer free publication and free access. However, Open access publications are not without costs. As a publisher, Aqua Publisher needs to pay platform operation fees to publishing platform operators. These fees are used for server rentals, journal publishing systems, publishing databases, access space, software upgrades, and the daily operation and maintenance of the journal publishing system.
